Miss Wendy is a Montessori-trained reading teacher. She taught in her first Montessori school at 15, and she wrote these books for her own Montessori reading unit after searching for years for beginning readers without confusing sight words.

In a Montessori classroom, children learn letter sounds with hands-on language materials like sandpaper letters and the moveable alphabet.
