Just because a word is small doesn’t mean it’s easy to read! These books are easy for beginning readers because there are no surprises. The letters say what they are supposed to say! To prepare your child for the books, please teach him letter sounds (short vowel sounds, and hard consonants) and these three sight words: a - the - is. That’s it! As soon as your child has accomplished this, he will be ready to READ all 18 of Miss Wendy’s Favorite Phonetic Books! He will also have a blast using the fun reading phone to hear his own voice clearly as he reads-which increases his fluency and comprehension!
