Miss Wendy’s Favorite Phonetic Books Kit
What are Miss Wendy’s Favorite Phonetic Books?
Teaching your children to learn to read is a challenging process. Why is the Miss Wendy’s Books kit so much easier? The letter sounds in these engaging books say what they’re supposed to say—they’re pure phonetics—with the exception of only three simple sight words: a, the & is. From their first efforts to read, your child will experience success!
Why Miss Wendy’s Favorite Phonetic Books?
PURE. PHONICS. So many kid’s stories, even popular children’s books, include confusing sight words. When your child is first learning to read, they may find words like “of” or “was” and get very frustrated!
The letters in these words don’t say what they are supposed to say. They would expect “of” to be “uv”, and “was” to be “wuz”. Just because a word is small, doesn’t mean it’s easy to read.
Teaching kids to read is hard!!
Miss Wendy’s Favorite Phonetic Books are So. Much. Easier.
In these short stories for kids the letters say what they are supposed to say, with the exception of only three sight words.
EASY PREPARATION
To prepare your child for the books, please teach them the letter sounds (short vowel sounds, and hard consonants). Your child will also need to know three sight words:
a - the - is
That’s it! As soon as your child has accomplished this, they will be ready to READ all 18 of Miss Wendy’s Favorite Phonetic Books.

No Illustrations That Give the Story Away
While the books have charming illustrations on each cover, the pages inside are purposefully not illustrated. This allows your child to develop and use their skills to read the storyline without attempting to guess—and often be wrong. By using reading skills instead of guessing, your child will be set up for success.
Is it a toy or a tool? It’s both!
In addition to the Level 1-3 books, the kit comes with a reading phone that your child can use while reading the stories.
Here’s how it can help your child: It’s fun!
+ Kids love it!
+ Increases enthusiasm for reading time.
+ Helps your child focus on the words as they read.
+ Increases reading fluency.
+ Increases reading comprehension.

What Others Are Saying
“Reading Phone: Where has this been all my life? My daughter loves it because she can hear her voice magnified in it and I only let her play with it at reading time so it makes the whole process so thrilling for her. She asks me all day long, ‘When can I do my phone reading program?’ I know it sounds silly but it has changed the game for me, it’s normally such a struggle to get her to want to sit down and do reading with me because she is so independent but with this little phone it has added an element of fun and excitement to our learning time. Just brilliant!”— Jessica D., Mom
